Workshops and Demos

Sacred Smudging Art Exhibit

Pipon Village (92 Street and 118 Avenue)

Saturday & Sunday
This year’s installation is to provide the community with an opportunity to be part of a traditional ceremonial practice and understand one of the ways of life in Treaty 6 Territory.

Smudging is a cultural ceremony practiced by many Indigenous people in Canada and other parts of the world. It is the practice of burning various medicinal plants to purify/cleanse the body, mind, and heart and connect us with our spirit and the Creator. In our thoughts and prayer, we ask the Creator to help us balance our lives.
