Saturday, January 11

  • Northern Lights Beer Garden (inside giant igloo) @ 2:00 pm

  • The Hearth (Hodson Hall, inside Alberta Avenue Community League) @ 3:00 pm

The Borch Brothers have been playing gigs together since about 2003. At that point, the average age of the band was about 10 years old and the youngest member, Rigel, was only two years old! Since then they’ve played at North Country Fair, Big Valley Jamboree, Canadian Finals Rodeo, Deep Freeze Festival, The Edmonton Fringe, the Ponoka Stampede and countless others. They love playing at old age homes, dances, community events, private functions, and are one of the longest standing buskers at Edmonton’s Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market.

The Borch Brother’s music style has its roots in old time fiddle and has grown into Celtic, Ukrainian, East Coast, and blues. More recently, they’ve been branching into swing and folk with more vocals and improvisation, while also adding some originals.

Their aspirations aren’t for fame or fortune, but instead to play more of their favourite gigs: where they connect with the crowd as they bounce, dance and sing along.
