Janet Paskemin, is a Cree-Nakota singer and jingle dress dancer, a descendant of chiefs Mistahi- Maskwa and Poundmaker, the youngest daughter of 10 children and single mother of 4. Janet has been singing and recording music with her family drum group Sweetgrass Singers, since 1983, they were nominated for a 2018 Juno award in the category of Traditional Indigenous music.
