Julien loves to wear hats! In fact, he wears many hats in his life. He is an avid teacher, a versatile musician and an actor, producer and director for the Musicalmania! troupe that performs across Alberta. His band Angelitos writes songs in English, French and Spanish and they play music that makes you dance!

Julien aime porter des chapeaux! En fait, il porte plusieurs chapeaux dans sa vie. Il est un enseignant passionné, un musicien polyvalent et un comédien, producteur et directeur pour la troupe Musicalmania! qui présente à travers l’Alberta. Son groupe Angelitos compose des chansons en anglais, en francais et en espagnol et ils jouent de la musique qui fait danser!

But in the end, the most important facet to the progressive-alternative pop and soul sound of the artist who calls herself Karimah might be the passion she brings to what she’s doing.

Le Fuzz is an original band from Edmonton that defines unique with their fusion of languages, instruments, skill and diversity. Their music is an infectious blend of language and rhythm, the result of 20 years of gigs and journeys. Le Fuzz Has recorded two full length albums with Scott Franchuk (www.riverdalerecorders.com) and are working towards a 3rd release. The Band was formed in 2002 and they released their first record in 2006 - 'Vie la Vida!’ “….mischievous voyageur mayhem” – Roger Levesque, Edmonton Journal November ‘07. In 2014 they released their sophomore album ‘Usona’, a live off the floor record with a spirit of fearless musical exploration. Le Fuzz is energetic, creative, original and delivers a spectacular live show suitable for all ages.

Le groupe est bien capable d'offrir un spectacle tout en français. Depuis leur naissance, Le Fuzz a eu l'appui de plusieurs organismes francophone à travers l'ouest du Canada. Ça nous fera le plaisir mais surtout l'honneur d'être parmi votre programmation.

Now that they are young adults, these former ôcole secondaire de Beaumont Composite High School still enjoy getting together and play their French Band répertoire that took them many places in Alberta throughout their High School years. They are happy to be back at the Deep Freeze: A Byzantine Winter Festival.

Formé lorsqu'ils étaient en neuvième année à l'École J.E. Lapointe de Beaumont, le groupe musical Les Petits Garçons jouent encore leurs interprétations de la musique québécoise et française des années 70 jusqu'à plus récemment. Ils sont heureux de revenir au Deep Freeze : un festival d’hiver byzantin.

Originally from Sept-Iles in Quebec, Marc Beaudin is a full-time professional musician who graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor degree in Professional Music Studies. He has been part of Western Canada’s vibrant music scene for years. Marc received two Global Music Awards; in composition and production.

As a former Canadian Forces Music Branch musician, Marc had the opportunity and privilege to represent Canada with music all over the world (South Korea, Eastern Europe, Sweden, Holland, France, US). Marc is the leader of the show band named The Retrofitz (www.retrofitz.ca), and also is volunteer musician at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital.

In 2024 will be releasing all original music with Samantha King and The Midnight Outfit and a francophone party band called PRAIRIES FUNK-O-FONE.

Marten Borch is a seasoned and versatile multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter with over two decades of captivating performances under his belt. Steeped in the essence of folk music, he weaves together a tapestry of influences, drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists such as Nathelie Mcmaster, Artie Shaw, Pink Floyd, and even Linkin Park. Throughout his career, Marten has crisscrossed the country taking his music to audiences at events and festivals. Alongside his band, The Borch Brothers, he has performed at gatherings like North Country Fair, Taste of Edmonton, Big Valley Jamboree, and Robson Valley Folk Festival. With heartfelt authenticity, Marten bares his emotions, taking listeners on an immersive journey through moments of pure joy and the depths of sadness, from fiery bursts of anger, to the beacon of hope, and finally, to the beauty that permeates life's simplest moments.

Jay Kuchinsky is a well established fiddler and music educator in Edmonton for almost 40 years. He is well versed in Ukrainian, Irish, and Métis fiddling and is passionate about learning and transcribing music in these genres. He is currently working on a music book entitled Ukrainian Fake Book; the dance music of North Central Alberta, as well he has taught Métis fiddle for 11 years at Ben Calf Robe school. His trio provides lively and dance-able instrumentals and songs.

The Vinok Orchestra is the live music component of the Vinok Worldance full theatre productions; performing their own arrangements of traditional ethnic folk music, often using traditional instruments. The company’s repertoire is comprised of dance and music from 60 separate cultures on five continents. The choreographic repertoire is enhanced by Vinok’s extensive collection of cultural costumes, many of which have been made in their countries of origin. Described as "Canada’s United Nations of Dance", Vinok has toured numerous productions throughout North America playing to audiences from Yellowknife to Florida, from Newfoundland to British Columbia.

For more than 30 years, the Vohon Ukrainian Dance Ensemble has excited audiences with both their regional repertoire and their character storylines. The ensemble creates a rich display of Ukrainian dance that lights the stage from the moment the curtain opens to the final Hopak.

The Vohon Ukrainian Dance Ensemble was co-founded in 1988 by Ken Kachmar and Rick Wacko. For almost a decade, Vohon has been under the artistic direction of Trish Kushniruk, Larissa Pohoreski, and Matt Karpiak. Together, the artistic team brings over 70 years of dance experience and work to create challenging and engaging choreography for dancers and audience members alike; the result is a captivating display of Ukrainian dance.

In its time, Vohon has shared its passion for Ukrainian dance on both local and international stages including festivals across Western Canada, the United States, Australia, Germany, Scotland, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Japan, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, England, Portugal, and Ukraine. Vohon is a strong ambassador for Edmonton, as well as their province and country.

Established in the fall of 2002 by the Association la Girandole, Zéphyr is a dance collective based in Edmonton which mainly focuses its repertoire on French-Canadian dance and high-level step dancing. The troupe will enhance your events and surprise your guests! Every year, Zéphyr performs on stage for the general public.

Being part of Zéphyr is much more than just a hobby! The quality of the productions that the troupe presents is based on the talent, work, commitment and professionalism of the performers. If you are over 16 and think you have the necessary talent and passion, know that Zéphyr is always looking for new artists. The dancers making up the troupe are selected after audition. Although experience in dance, theater and performance is an asset, we primarily assess candidates' learning and performing abilities.

We are a Fun family based group that loves to travel. Zorianka will be performing on Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship to Alaska this coming July 2024.

Lakota Tootoosis is plains Cree from the Poundmaker Cree nation. Lakota has been hoop dancing for over ten years, he’s performed in Taiwan, Alaska and travels extensively throughout North America entertaining audiences at various venues. The hoop dance is a formation storytelling dance, you will see formations like the butterfly, eagle and the world to name a few. You can use your imagination to see a variety of images transform throughout his performance.
