Irene Topolnitsky will be teaching the craft of Wheat Weaving. Wheat weaving dates back thousands of years and is practiced by many cultures. Wheat is of great importance to the Ukrainian people and is celebrated as part of their annual harvest festivals. After the wheat weavings are decorated with traditional Ukrainian flowers and ribbons, the decoration (didukh) symbolizes the abundance of a bountiful harvest.
